Eevryday.Perspective (VA Interview)

  1. What prompted you to pursue your art or your message?

What prompted me was my lack of a purpose. All my life I had grown up doing performing arts, so singing, dance, and theatre. I then found the groups of kids who were into the same thing, and I saw I wasn’t really cut out for it. Since then, for about four years, I didn’t have anything I really loved to do. I enjoyed taking pretty photos, and once my parents saw them, they motivated me to put them online somewhere. I found that by finding the beauty in the muck of everyday life, I was able to brighten the world around me.

  1. Do you think most young adults lack the passion to pursue their goals or do they not really know what they are passionate about?

I feel like that’s a classic dilemma many people are caught in. With a world where we have so much access to everything and get things handed right to us, many people have found they don’t mind lacking hard work. But it takes hard work to get what you want. And if you don’t know what you’re doing, there’s not much that you really can do than expand upon your current talents and then go discover new ones.

  1. What things inspire you to continue working and learning?

Whenever I see a photo that makes me want to write a story I’m inspired. I want to hear about why that picture came to exist. What real life beauty could have inspired this snap of perfection?

  1. Who is your hero or role model? Why?

My number one hero in photography, is probably Sawyer Hartman (@sawyerhartman), due to his deep thinking, good eye, and the excitement he gets from doing what he loves.

  1. Favorite color, animal, song, book, and quote and why?

I don’t really have favorite colors, but I have favorite color combinations. I like black and white, then red, orange and yellow, then blue, purple, and green. And countless more.

My favorite animal would probably just have to be dogs. šŸ™‚

My favorite song changed all the time, but I love “Goner” by twenty one pilots.

Favorite book would probably be the first Harry Potter book.

My favorite quote, ooh that’s a rough one. On my page I post song quotes on every post almost, and so I have so many good ones. I can’t even begin to narrow anything down.

  1. What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to pursue your same field?

A piece of advice I would give is to not be intimidated. It doesn’t have to be permanent, you can experiment, and yes, there will always be someone better out there, and that’s okay. All artists begin as amateurs.

  1. Why did you choose the brand name you go by?

Everyday.perspective was actually just a name I came up with really quickly. I looked at the pictures I was taking and saw that I was photographing normal, everyday things, but from a different angle. I could alter my reality and make it completely mine. You could make your world beautiful if you just took your everyday perspective and changed it up a little bit.

  1. Where do you hope to take your brand in the future?

I have no clue what I want to do with my brand. I want to inspire others, make them feel something. Move them to tears, a smile, or an entirely different thought. Make them think. I hope to be able to reach out more and more and get a wider audience to share with.
